Eating Disorders are a learnt way of coping with feelings, pressures and situations in life. Those situations include stress, trauma and anxiety. The triggers can include biological, emotional, social and environmental factors. Behaviours that are linked to eating disorders include lethargy, irritability, aggression, becoming uncommunicative, unable to concentrate, lack of confidence in their own achievement, depression and an inability to believe in or reach goals.
This one day course will help to increase staff confidence in supporting pupils who are struggling with eating disorders and also increase knowledge of how to reduce these illnesses and behaviours impacting on the whole-school environment.
